Death and Resurrection Book by Brad

Short story about a pair of twins, a girl and boy who set off on a journey towards destiny, who learn to fight in the old style and have to defeat the evil one who runs the whole of the land in a barbaric manner.
The story sees the rise of the twins, their learnings, their fears, their happiness, and their tears. Will good overcome evil.

I wrote this story when I was 10 years old for a project for school. My dad helped me, with lots of words and spellings, and the layout, but the whole idea for the story is mine, dad just made it fit together a bit better, I am now 13 and I asked dad if it was ok to publish this story online as a book. So here it is, I do hope you enjoy it, as much as I enjoyed telling the story to dad.

Description: Drake and Melina were 15 year old twins. Drake was a strong looking boy with a very square jaw-line; his hair was as red as fire. Melina was an elegant and pretty young girl but she had a ferocious temper; her hair was long and was yellow like the sun reflecting on corn. Drake and Melina lived at a time when the Law of the land was written by cruel overlords. they were the Overlords because they were the strongest at the time, and those who had the biggest army were the leaders. The Overlord's name was Scorpius; his followers were known as the Scorpiosis. These men were feared throughout the land. The city where they lived and gave orders from was Flarfetch, which was 30 miles from the town of Gangretu where Drake and Melina lived. The twins so dearly wished to learn how to fight and how to become mighty warriors, so that one day they could challenge the mighty Scorpius and his army, and that someday they too may have an army of followers to battle for good and for freedom.

Paulreyno presents a collection of thoughts that enter his head first thing in the morning when he arrives at work. This collection covers tha fantasy (you only live twice), to the out and out dark (on a black night). It covers the war on terror from an anti-war stance. All in all a great read, and helps get inside the mind of one very complex individual.

Between the Roman’s Rule and the Norman Conquest of 1066 there is no real documented evidence for local historians to get their teeth into. This is due chiefly to the continuous changing of place names. We do know, however that Doncaster and Conisborough were both Saxon burghs, burgh meaning a fortified settlement. Similarly Burghwallis, Sprotborough and Mexborough, may have been fortified settlements also. No doubt, within our long history the Danes settled in Adwick and surrounding areas, we know this due to a find of a grave containing the skeletal remains of a Viking female whilst excavation work was being carried out to lay sewerage pipes for a new development in 2001. some of the finds from the dig The Danes would have come up the Humber estuary and the river Don, a lot of the older place names are Danish in origin, Hangthwaite, meaning a hanging clearing and Langthwaite, this area stretched from Highfields to Castle Hills.
